Girls' Tennis

Kristen Perez, Head Coach

Kristen Perez has been a Wellness teacher at Bedford High School for the past three years and will be coaching Girls' Varsity Tennis in Spring 2012.  Kristen participated in tennis while attending Central High School, where she served as Team Captain. She then moved to Tampa Florida with the intention of playing tennis at the University of Tampa, but unfortunately was diagnosed with mononucleosis, quickly ending her season.  Kristen moved back to New Hampshire and graduated from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2006 with a degree in Community Health Education and minor in Nutrition. Kristen has previous coaching experience serving as the Head Coach for the Girls' Tennis team at Manchester Memorial High School; and Assistant Coach of Bedford High School's Girls' Indoor Track team -- most recently, Assistant Coach of the Women's Tennis team at St. Anselm College.

Sandy Jean, Assistant

Sandy Jean works in the Bedford school system in the Reading Support Dept at Memorial School.  Following several USTA Coaching certification she began working with Junior Tennis development program at The Bedford Bluffs Swim & Tennis Club where she has been involved with the program for the past three years. The program involves working with children ages 5-16.  In addition to coaching, Sandy has also been involved as a player in the USTA Women’s League Association, as well as, the Mixed league programs giving her a tremendous amount of playing experience at all levels of the sport.  Her enthusiasm at the High School level is greatly attributed to her involvement with her two daughters who played High School tennis at Manchester West and Bedford High School and are now competing at the college level.  Sandy had the opportunity to work alongside Peter Gagnon (former BHS girls’ tennis coach) for two years as a volunteer assistant through the development of the Bedford High tennis program.
