Matthew Guerard, Head Coach

Mr. Guerard has been the Bass Fishing coach at Bedford High School for the past three years.  He is the founding coach of the Bass Fishing program at BHS.  His teams have competed in 2 out of the last 3 State Championships.  Mr. Guerard has been an avid angler for the past 20 years.



Noah Pion, Head Coach

Noah is a Wellness teacher at Bedford High School and is an established track and field coach.  With a passion for training, Noah is excited to start his career as a Cross Country coach.

For the past eight years, Noah has been the indoor and outdoor track and field coach at Bedford high school and has help lead the teams to four state championships and six state runner up titles.  He is currently the head girls track and field coach and coaches the sprints and hurdles.




Stephanie Burnham, Head Coach

Stephanie is a Humanities teacher at Bedford High School and a veteran distance runner with more than twenty years of experience. She ran Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track for the University of New Hampshire, and has continued to compete with the local track club since graduating in 2003.

Stephanie is entering her tenth year as an English teacher.  Prior to coming to Bedford High School, she taught at Manchester Central High School where she worked as an assistant and volunteer for the distance teams for several seasons.





Steven Connors, Varsity Head Coach

Steve has been coaching Field Hockey for the past 11 years at all levels from introduction to Field Hockey to college coaching.   Steve has been a high school varsity coach for seven years and was named NHIAA Coach of the Year for 2007.

Steve has been a collegiate coach at Southern NH University for the past three years as well as an instructor for local summer Field Hockey camps and the director of overnight instructional Field Hockey camps at New Hampton School.  

Steve has also taught high school science for 12 years and is currently in the process of receiving a Masters in Science from the University of Nebraska.  Steve has been married for 15 years and has three children in the Bedford School system.

Kathleen Campbell-Kelley, JV Head Coach

Kathleen Campbell-Kelley has been coaching at BHS the past three years and excited for this Fall season!  Kathleen played field hockey at Keene High all four years and was Captain her Senior year.  She went onto to play at Plymouth State University and was elected Captain her Senior year.  Kathleen started coaching right out of College at Rye Jr. High School and has been a patched High School Official for the past 15 years!  She also enjoys coaching for the Cave Girl Field Hockey Summer Camp.




Derek Stank, Varsity Head Coach

Derek Stank has been a Wellness teacher, assistant football coach, and head varsity track and field coach at Bedford High School since its inception in 2007.  After assisting with the varsity football team as the offensive and defensive line position coach, he is assuming the position of head varsity football coach for the 2015 season. Derek was a 5-year scholarship dual sport athlete for the University of New Hampshire from 2001-2005.  He was voted captain of the UNH football team in 2005 and received the team’s MVP and school’s Jim Urquhart Male Student-Athlete of the Year.  At UNH, Derek concentrated his efforts in the shot put, discus, and javelin with the Track and Field program.

Tyler Hunnewell, Varsity Assistant

Tyler played high school football in Kennebunk, Maine under the legendary head football coach - Joe Rafferty.  After Kennebunk Tyler played football at Husson University.  For the past three seasons, Tyler has been an assistant football coach at Bedford High School, coaching both Varsity and JV.  Tyler lives in Londonderry with his wife Chelsea and son Eli.

Andy Lavigne, Varsity Assistant

Andy Lavigne played high school football at Manchester West High.  After West, Andy played four years of college football at Plymouth State.  After graduation he was hired as an assistant coach at Plymouth State as the defensive back coach.  After a few years off, Andy jumped back into coaching at the youth level for several years.  For the past four seasons, Andy has been an assistant varsity football coach at Bedford High School.  Andy has been fortunate to coach by his father’s side for the East/West CHaD games and lives in Bedford with his wife and two children.

Sean Donahue, Varsity Assistant

Sean Donahue is a fifth grade teacher at McKelvie Intermediate School.  He is also an Assistant Football Coach and the Freshman Baseball Coach at Bedford High School.  Having grown up playing football, basketball, and baseball; Sean played football at Stonehill College and graduated with degrees in Elementary Education and Mathematics.

Neal Vaupel, JV Head Coach

In his fourth year as a part of Bedford High School Football, Neal has coached at the freshmen, junior varsity, and varsity levels.  Coach Vaupel is the quarterback's coach, as well as an assistant linebacker's coach. Currently, Neal is a fourth grade teacher at Clark-Wilkins Elementary School in Amherst, New Hampshire. Coach Vaupel grew up on Long Island, NY and attended college at Adelphi University.

David Frederick,  Freshman Head Coach

David is an accomplished and championship winning football coach having coached at various levels and positions throughout his career including several years with the Bedford Jr. Bulldog program. Currently, David is a small business owner living in Bedford, NH with his wife and 5 kids. In addition to coaching football, David grew up playing Pop Warner Football and was a successful varsity multi-sport high school and prep school athlete including winning back to back Massachusetts Div. 1 Football Championships as a Wide Receiver and Defensive Back and multi-year “ All Western Mass” and All New England Splinter” awards. Coach Frederick is passionate about the game of football and building outstanding players on and off the field.



Dan Colburn, Head Coach

Dan is a graduate of Laconia High School and Keene State College; and has been teaching and coaching in NH for 20 years.  For the past 14 years at Pinkerton Academy, he coached Freshman and JV baseball, as well as JV and Varsity Golf; and led Varsity Golf team to a perfect 30-0 season.  In 2008 he was awarded the NHIAA sportsmanship award for Varsity Golf.

Dan is currently teaching at Manchester West High School and is the coach of the Varsity Baseball team.  Dan became the Varsity Golf coach at Bedford High School in 2014 and took the team to the DI State Championship.



Stuart Pepper, Varsity Head Coach

Stuart Pepper is a Humanities teacher at BHS and has been the varsity soccer coach since the school's opening in 2007. A former semi professional soccer player from England, Stuart moved to the States in 2001 and became the varsity coach at Hollis Brookline.  In six seasons, he took the team to two state finals, winning a championship in 2004. At Bedford, Stuart, with his coaching staff, has overseen a flourishing program that reached a state championship final in 2010. Stuart has also coached at Seacoast United for the past seven seasons and has twice received the accolade of NH coach of the year!

Andrew Mezeske, JV Head Coach

Andrew is a Humanities teacher here at BHS, and is excited to be a part of the soccer program.  Andrew played at the varsity level in high school, and has coached at various levels in Michigan and here in New Hampshire.

Joshua Bashalany, Freshman Head Coach

Josh is a Humanities teacher at Bedford High School.  Josh played three years of varsity soccer at Nashua High School (when it was one unified program) competing for a state championship during his sophomore year.  In addition to NHS, he played with Nashua World Cup and the Olympic Development Program.  His coaching career has taken him to Merrimack High School as the Boys JV coach, followed by two middle school programs: Pelham and Hudson.  Josh is extremely proud to be a part of the Bedford Soccer Program!



Michelle Winning, Varsity Head Coach

Michelle Winning teaches 8th grade Social Studies and coaches Varsity Girls’ Soccer in Bedford. Her playing experience started at McKelvie Middle School and extended through high school and college, where she received various awards for academic and athletic (soccer) achievement. Michelle began coaching at McKelvie in 2000.  In 2002 she assumed the head coaching position at Concord High School. In 2004 she moved on to West High School in Manchester where she coached JV and assisted with varsity girls’ soccer before filling the BHS Varsity coaching position in 2006.  

Some interesting background history on Michelle . . . Played varsity soccer at West 4 years--Captain senior year; won 3 Class L state championships.  All State 3 years (1 as field player, 2 as goalkeeper).  Michelle is the only player in girls soccer history to win All-State as a goalkeeper and field player; including All-New England in her senior year (as a goalkeeper).

Michelle also played goalkeeper for NH Phantoms for 4 years and a Fieldplayer for Notre Dame College in Manchester.  She was also NHSCA Coach of the year 2011

Catherine Herrick, JV Head Coach

Catherine Herrick is the Health Educator at Ross A. Lurgio Middle School and is beginning her third year of coaching the JV Girls’ soccer team at Bedford High School.  She is a Bedford native who captained the Trinity High School Soccer team in her senior year to win the Class L State Championship in 2001 and competed on the collegiate level at Western Connecticut State University.  Mrs. Herrick began her coaching career as the assistant varsity coach at Bethal High School in Bethal, CT.  Upon return to New Hamsphire she coached various club level teams, at McKelvie Intermediate School, and continues to play soccer on various teams within the state.

Laura Chenette, Freshman Head Coach

Laura Chenette is in her second year of coaching Freshmen Girls’ Soccer at Bedford.  She also works at BHS as a Spanish teacher.  Laura’s soccer experience includes club level and playing at the collegiate level at Messiah College in Pennsylvania.  Laura began coaching at the high school level at Trinity High School in 2005 and has coached JV and varsity levels.

Jackie Hickey, Varsity Head Coach

Beginning this Fall, 2014 Jackie is entering her first year of coaching with the BHS Spirit program.  Jackie began cheerleading when she was 9 years old and was involved in all youth teams within her hometown of Londonderry, NH; including the Varsity team for her middle school.  In high school, Jackie cheered at the Varsity level for all four years and was captain of the team her senior year.  In addition to her local school teams, she was also involved in CO-ED All Stars.

Jackie began as a "coach-in-training" in 1997 and moved to Head Coach in 2003 for local recreation cheer teams where she continued to coach for nine more years!  She has also coached for an All Star program for the last seven years.  Jackie is really looking forward to coaching the BHS Spirit team and is very excited that the Spirit program begins competing at the Division I level this Fall.

Stephanie Brodsky, JV Head Coach

Stephanie has been involved in cheerleading and gymnastics since childhood. Cheering in Pop Warner, Jr High, High School, and All Stars. After graduating from High School Stephanie started Coaching for Nashua Catholic developing the team over a five year span until they claimed a Grand Champion Title at the State CYO competition. She went on to coach at Alvirne High School Varsity level developing a program that brought them to the top 6 in the state.  Stephanie enjoys coaching and working with the girls teaching them not only about the sport, but about sportsmanship and friendship.  She is very excited to start a new coaching career at Bedford High School.




Robert Marr, Varsity Head Coach

Coach Marr has been involved with girl’s volleyball for years.  He has assisted at the junior high school level at Nashua Catholic, was the Freshman Coach at Alvirne the past two years and has coached club volleyball at Lat42 and now currently at HardRock.

Bob has been involved with girl’s athletics for the past 13 years.  He has coached multiple junior olympic softball teams, was the Assistant Varsity Softball and JV Head Coach at Alvirne High School. Bob has also been an ASA NH State Junior Olympic Softball District Commissioner since 2009.  He is also CAP I and first aid/CPR certified.

Jared Scali, JV Head Coach

Jared has been playing volleyball for ten years and played right here in NH at Salem High School. He has multiple state titles plus a National Championship from playing college volleyball at The University of New Hampshire.  Jared still plays year-round in adult indoor and beach volleyball leagues/tournaments. Jared is focused on coaching the BHS Volleyball program with strong leadership and is excited to work on creating and building this program and sustain great success.

Sarah Castelot, Freshman Head Coach

This is Sarah's first year coaching and is very excited to begin her coaching career at Bedford High School.  Sarah is very involved with working for non-profit organizations. She currently works at Easter Seals and previously worked at the American Cancer Society.  Sarah graduated from Trinity High School where she played varsity volleyball for her all four years and was team captain during her senior year of high school.  She attended Colby-Sawyer College where she played volleyball at the collegiate level. Sarah is very excited to help the freshman program start their volleyball careers and develop the player’s next level of love and passion for the game.
